Aluminium pipe is naturally resistant to mould and bacteria growth, so the spout shouldn’t need cleaning. We recommend refilling with fresh water each time you water, and ensure your plant food is liquid or gel based for easy flow. However, if you feel it needs cleaning, simply wash in warm soapy water and give it a good rinse. Aluminium will not rust or corrode.
We recommend not to move the spout up and down in the bottle. This will eventually compromise the rubber seal and may affect the flow of water. If you do need to move the spout, use some sort of food grade grease or lubricant on the pipe to ensure the spout moves with ease. We can also cut to any custom length pipe you require. Our longest custom made pipe was over 1m! It’s
absolutely fine to adjust the spout left or right to pinpoint your water flow or change angle.

The black rubber seal helps keep the unit airtight, which is how you get water flow. Sometimes if the cap is not screwed on enough and air can still move, your water will not flow. Check cap is screwed on. If the bottle has been exposed to the sun or elements for long periods, or if you have
moved the spout in the bottle a lot, there is a chance the rubber seal has been compromised. However, this is easy fixed! We can sell you a new seal. To check, after screwing the cap on well, give the bottle a squeeze (with water in it). If you can hear the hissing of air escaping, it could be a faulty or compromised seal.
